I am professor for terrestrial biogeochemistry at the Ecole supérieure in Paris, and director of the unit CEREEP-Ecotron Ile de France. My research and teaching deal with biogeochemical cycles (mainly carbon and nitrogen) in the terrestrial ecosystems.
I studied agronomy and biogeosciences in France (ESA Angers, Université Paris VI / ENS Paris) and received my PhD in Agronomy and environmental sciences in 2005 from Agrocampus Rennes. I moved then to Zurich, first as post-doc researcher on a project looking at lignin molecules in the plants and soils. In 2008, I received a Ambizione grant from the Swiss National Foundation for Science to work on the persistence of fire-derived organic matter in soils. I was then group leader at the university of Zurich, before moving back to France in summer 2020.
My main interests are related to global changes effects on terrestrial ecosystems, long term carbon dynamics and interdisciplinary research at the frontiers between biology, geosciences and social sciences.
